The ABRC and Beer City Bicycles are hosting a benefit for Marlon Cleghorn on July 21 from 6pm-10pm! $10 at the door gets you all the beer you can drink from French Broad Brewing, local food, and access to our fabulous silent auction! Can’t make it on the 21st but still want to help out? Visit one of our local bike vendors for a $10 raffle ticket that could win you a prize from Industry Nine, Lululemon Athletica, Pure Pilates, SUWS of the Carolinas, and many more!On July 1, local cyclist Marlon Cleghorn was struck by a vehicle while riding his bike home from work. Originally in critical condition, Marlon has stabilized, but remains in the hospital. He is an all-around great guy, and an enthusiastic cyclist.
This means a couple of things for us, as a cycling community. One, it is a reminder to put safety first and to always be aware of your surroundings. Always wear a helmet, and please put the proper lights on your bike while riding in dim light.
Secondly, it is an opportunity for us, as a community, to show our support of an amazing local cyclist, and of cycling in Asheville in general. So come out and party for a good cause!
